R&R & Cimelia Expand E-Waste Services in EU
R&R Group Services Ltd has signed a mutually exclusive contract with
Singapore
based Cimelia Resource Recovery Pte Ltd, a 100% owned subsidiary of Enviro-Hub
Holdings

R&R's core business is the global procurement and sourcing, refurbishment,
kitting
and repair of IT Multivendor spares for the IT Maintenance Market.
Faced with the challenge to maximise value and minimise costs for customers
when

and
Cimelia creates a competitive advantage over other UK companies.
At its' new Biggleswade Processing & Distribution Centre, R&R will use
a Cimelia's

the crushed
material is containerised and shipped to Cimelia's processing facility in

now having
this new resource is that R&R remains in control of the product cycle to
and from the
customer, this linked to inventory control and procurement allows stronger cost
management
and benefits to the customer.

essential
part of being a competitive service provider , R&R now has all the
essential "in house"
portfolio of services to manage the complete cycle of IT Parts and Components
in total
compliance with all current legislation together with responsibility and cost
control residing
with one provider, a definite benefit to any company operating in the IT
Maintenance sector".

to the strong
corporate brand name that Cimelia currently enjoys in the global e-waste
management and

 Toshiba
Chooses R&R Data Managed Services To Provide Data Recovery Solutions To
Customers
Toshiba's Computer Systems Division today announced that it has chosen R&R
Data Managed Services to provide its customers with data recovery solutions and
services. With 20 years experience of successful data recovery, R&R is able
to offer Toshiba clients the best solutions to potentially disastrous data loss
scenarios together with services to protect hard drive content vulnerable to
human error, viruses, natural disasters and device failure.
"We see R&R as an innovative data management organisation with the
flexibility and responsiveness needed to deliver a wide range of services
around notebook users' most important asset - their data," said Gary Evans,
Head of Services for Toshiba CSD. "Many users don't understand the real value
of the data they store on their PC and everyone faces the risk of losing
information at any time through malware, component failure or physical damage
to their machines. We see more and more of our customers storing critical,
valuable and sometimes priceless data, photos, music and video on their
notebook PCs, and whilst we stress the importance of backing-up data regularly
to avoid data loss, Toshiba, with R&R, can now extend a helping hand to
users who suffer potentially disastrous hard drive damage and failure."
"By partnering with Toshiba, we are now able to provide superior data recovery
services direct to one of the world's most trusted and reputable notebook
manufacturer," said Bill Osborne, Sales & Marketing Director of R&R
Data Managed Services. "R&R is leading the competition in terms of recovery
success rates and recovery expertise and we will be helping Toshiba to become
the only notebook manufacturer to widely offer data recovery services direct to
the customer." |

  Your
chance to help stamp out identity theft in Bedfordshire
Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity, Bedfordshire Police and R&R Data
Managed Services are working together to provide the safe and secure disposal
of old hard disk data drives within Bedfordshire.
The pilot initiative, which provides a local, free and confidential service for
individuals within the county, as successfully launched in Cranfield on Friday
12th May 2006 - Inspector Neill Waring from Bedfordshire Police said "Feedback
from both the public and the University in Cranfield highlights the need for
this service. I am convinced that a partnership approach to tackle identity
related crime is the best way forward."
Home Office figures estimate that more than 100,000 people are affected by
identity theft in the UK each year and research carried out in Bedfordshire
alone shows that a staggering 90 percent of disposed of computers contain
sensitive data that could be used to steal individual identities. This data is
retrievable within 2 to 3 minutes.
Even if you delete your data regularly or have reformatted your hard disk drive
to delete all your old files, your information is still retrievable and
provides an easy way for criminals to steal your identity.
How will the pilot work?
Bedfordshire Police and BRCC are establishing a network of locations, that will
accept computer hard drives for safe disposal.
Data will be destroyed in a confidential, environmentally friendly, safe and
secure environment by R & R Data Managed Services Ltd, one of the U.K's
leading data destruction companies. Hard drives will be tracked throughout the
process with a receipt being issued on collection of the hard drive and
certificates being issued to confirm the safe destruction of data.
The scheme has been funded partly from the Regional Government Office for the
East of England as part of their drive to reduce crime and identity theft
within Bedfordshire.
David Maxwell from Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity said "we will be
reaching out into rural areas with the support of many of our Village Care
Schemes, BRCC E-Rural Bus and Mobile Police Stations to provide access to this
valuable service and increase awareness of the crime issues raised by identity
theft and the fact that it can affect anyone no matter where they live or
work."
Inspector Neill Waring from Bedfordshire Police added "Your personal identity
is probably your most valuable asset and people don't realise that they are
inadvertently throwing away all their personal details. What this project will
hopefully do is raise the profile of this crime type and offer a means for the
people in Bedfordshire to safely dispose of their old computer hard drives"
Members of the public should check the BRCC web site for details and locations
for collection including the mobile police station.
